How does garment tracking work?

Every order gets a unique barcode label printed at intake. Staff scan items at each stage — received, washing, drying, folding/pressing, ready, and delivered. The system tracks individual garments within an order, so if a customer drops off 12 items, all 12 are accounted for. You can also attach photos at intake to document pre-existing stains or damage, which eliminates disputes.

Do I need a special barcode scanner?

No. LaundryBot works with any standard USB or Bluetooth barcode scanner, which you can get for $30-50 on Amazon. You can also use a smartphone camera to scan barcodes — our mobile view supports camera-based scanning. We print standard Code 128 barcodes on adhesive labels that attach to garment bags.

How do I set up delivery zones?

In your dashboard, you draw delivery zones on a map or enter zip codes. Each zone can have its own delivery fee, minimum order amount, and available time slots. You can create as many zones as you want — for example, a free delivery zone within 3 miles and a $5 fee zone from 3-7 miles. Zones can be adjusted anytime as your delivery area expands.

Can customers schedule recurring pickups?

Yes. Customers can set up weekly or biweekly recurring pickups through their online portal. They choose their preferred day and time window, and LaundryBot automatically schedules the driver. Subscription customers can also be set up on automatic billing — their card is charged after each completed order, and they get a monthly statement.

How does subscription billing work for recurring customers?

You can create subscription plans with fixed monthly pricing (e.g., "$99/month for up to 30 lbs of wash-and-fold per week") or pay-per-use with automatic billing. Corporate accounts can be invoiced monthly with net-15 or net-30 terms. LaundryBot handles all invoicing, payment collection, and sends automatic receipts. Overdue invoices get automatic reminders.

What laundry services does LaundryBot support?

LaundryBot supports any service you offer: wash-and-fold (by weight), dry cleaning (by item), pressing/ironing, alterations, specialty cleaning (wedding dresses, leather, rugs), and commercial/bulk laundry. You configure your own service menu with pricing, and the system handles everything from there. You can also add custom services unique to your shop.

Does it work with my existing POS system?

LaundryBot includes its own point-of-sale functionality for in-store payments. If you prefer to keep your existing POS, the Professional and Enterprise plans include integration options. We support common payment processors including Square, Stripe, and Clover. Contact us if you have a specific POS you need to integrate.

How do customer notifications work?

Customers receive automatic SMS and email notifications at key stages: order received, in progress, ready for pickup, out for delivery, and delivered. You can customize the message templates and choose which notifications to send. Customers can also reply to SMS messages with questions, and your staff sees those replies in the dashboard.

Can I use LaundryBot for multiple locations?

Yes. The Enterprise plan supports multi-location management with centralized analytics, shared customer databases, and location-specific settings. Each location can have its own pricing, services, delivery zones, and staff accounts, while you see a unified dashboard across all sites. Orders can even be transferred between locations if needed.

What happens during the 14-day free trial?

You get full access to every feature in your chosen plan for 14 days. No credit card is required to start. You can process real orders, set up delivery zones, configure notifications, and test everything with your actual workflow. If you decide LaundryBot is not for you, you simply stop using it — no cancellation needed, no charges.

How long does setup take?

Most laundromats are fully set up in under an hour. You enter your services and pricing, configure delivery zones (if applicable), set up notification templates, and you are live. If you are on the Enterprise plan, your dedicated account manager handles setup and staff training. We also offer a guided onboarding call for Professional plan customers.

Is my customer data secure?

Yes. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256). We store data in SOC 2-compliant cloud infrastructure. Payment information is handled by PCI-compliant payment processors — we never store credit card numbers on our servers. You own your data and can export it anytime.
